TRUCKEE, Calif. July 11, 2018 – This morning at approximately 2:00 a.m., Truckee Police located an abandoned vehicle on the Highway 267 bypass bridge. The vehicle was running with its driver side door open. The initial investigation indicated that the person who was driving the vehicle may have voluntarily gone missing in the immediate area.
The Truckee Police Department along with Nevada County Sheriff Search and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff RAVEN helicopter, and the California Highway Patrol Air Operations helicopter conducted a search of the area.
At approximately 9:30 a.m. a deceased subject was found in the immediate area.
At this time, the Truckee Police Department will not be releasing the name of the person involved.
