Grass Valley, CA — North Star House is thrilled to announce a special community event for all age groups scheduled to take place at the historic North Star House on Sunday, April 14th, from 1 PM to 4 PM. This exciting event has something for everyone from a live music performance, captivating magical acts, scavenger hunts, historical discoveries, and more!

North Star House

North Star House was designed by newly licensed architect Julia Morgan over a hundred years ago as an 11,000 foot “Miners House” in Grass Valley. The house and its surrounding 14 acres are being restored as a historical landmark building and community gathering center, showcasing the arts, theater, literature, and history.

Attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of activities, including:

  • Live Music Performance: Enjoy a performance with Music in the Mountains youth program
  • Captivating Magical Acts: Magical acts by the Nevada County Magicians Guild that will amaze and delight
  • Scavenger Hunts: Embark on an exciting exploration as you search throughout the grounds to solve a puzzle. Opportunities to win special prizes!
  • Historical Discoveries: Delve into the rich history of North Star House and uncover stories from the past that have been newly discovered.
  • Costumed Historical Characters: Encounter the past come to life as costumed historical characters roam the event.
  • Tours of the House and Garden: Explore the updated interiors and spring garden of North Star House through guided tours by our docents.
  • Restoration Demonstrations: Gain a deeper appreciation for the preservation efforts of North Star House as you watch restoration demonstrations firsthand.
  • Connecting Community – Brick by Brick: Discover how to customize your legacy and leave your mark on North Star House with a personalized brick. All purchases will aid in the restoration process.

In addition to the entertainment lineup, attendees will have the chance to indulge in delicious food options available for purchase from local Nevada County vendors.
