Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-CA) was invited to an in-person town hall in Nevada City today, organized by Indivisible Nevada County. The town hall will take place, without the Roseville Republican. Organizers were informed earlier this week a “long-standing commitment” prevented his attendance. Meanwhile, reports of Kiley planning to spend the day in South Lake Tahoe skiing and a hastily-arranged chamber meeting have prompted more calls for in-person town halls from constituents.

An email, reportedly sent by the Tahoe Chamber to their members on Monday reads, in part:

Congressman Kevin Kiley’s office has invited the chamber to put together a meeting at which he can hear from chamber members about issues that are important to their businesses.

The meeting is for members only and is from 5 – 6 pm this Thursday, March 20…

The Chamber email was allegedly sent on Monday morning (March 17) to chamber members. The Tahoe Chamber did not confirm or deny sending the email, but responded to our query with: “I’m sorry! I wasn’t able to reply prior to your deadline” approximately an hour after the 4 pm deadline had passed. We asked again for confirmation but have received no further response.

The Indivisible Nevada County Town Hall will take place from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City.
