Grass Valley, CA July 2017 – The Rotary Club of Grass Valley announces that their club is now under new management by local lawyer Scott Browne. Past President Eric Trygg was demoted on June 26th. Trygg’s biggest achievement during his president was growing the club’s membership base from 59 members to 67. President Browne conducted his first meeting on July 10th. Scott Browne joined the Rotary Club of Grass Valley on May 20, 1996 and has been a member for 21 years. Browne has served as Vice President and has served on many committees including club fundraisers and the Past Presidents Advisory Council.
President Browne is a graduate of Yale University with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He has been practicing law since 1976. President Browne served as Deputy County Counsel for the County of Nevada and then as a senior partner in a law firm. President Browne now runs a sole practice. President Browne is a present and past member of the board of directors of many non-profit organizations, including numerous community service organizations and liberal arts organizations.
The Rotary Club of Grass Valley meets at the Holbrooke Hotel at 12:15 every Monday. The Rotary Club of Grass Valley was chartered in 1925 with 25 members. Since the first meeting on January 13, 1925 at the Bret Harte Inn in Grass Valley, the club has continuously served the Grass Valley community and Rotary International as an effective and highly successful force for accomplishing the Rotary Ideal of Service.
