Nevada County, CA (February 25, 2026) – Soup Night is a treasured annual community gathering that celebrates local farmers and ranchers and the work Sierra Harvest does to build a resilient, equitable, and sustainable food system in Nevada County. Last year’s event was a major success, selling out with over 400 community members attending. Supporters are encouraged to get their tickets early this year at Humanitix or Sierraharvest.org.
“We love hosting Soup Night around the spring equinox as the unofficial launch of the year’s farming season. This is a place where the community comes together to celebrate our local farmers and ranchers, eat delicious soup, and catch up with friends,” says Eli Bacon, Executive Director at Sierra Harvest. โWe invite you to BYOB โ Bring Your Own Bowl, and participate in a beloved tradition thatโs entering its second decade.โ
Known for gathering farmers and the community together over a nourishing bowl of soup, this delicious dinner will be held at the Nevada County Fairgrounds Northern Mines building. Enter at Lot 4 for free parking.
The community is invited to show support for local food producers by enjoying all-you-can-eat soup and bread featuring locally sourced ingredients. Comedor, Heartwood Eatery, and BriarPatch Food Co-op are preparing a variety of soups; meat, vegetarian, and vegan options will be available. Richardโs Regenerative is donating beef for a hearty Heartwood stew, and Super Tuber Farmโs root vegetables will be featured in a vegetarian black lentil soup made by Comedor. BriarPatch will be providing their popular chicken and wild rice soup, with rice from Lundberg Family Farms, as well as their crowd-pleasing Minestrone. A full menu with all participating local farms will be available soon at Sierraharvest.org. Beer provided by Three Forks Bakery & Brewing will be available for purchase. Donations and proceeds benefit Sierra Harvest programs, including garden education at area schools, food recovery, and grant writing support for local food producers.

To further add to the festivities, the Oldgrass Bluetime Band will be playing and inspiring folks to kick up their heels. Attendees are invited to connect with community organizations and local farmers and ranchers to purchase their annual CSA box for beautiful seasonal produce.
Sierra Harvest thanks its sponsors, BriarPatch Food Co-op, MEC Builds, The Lee & Dunn Group at Baird, Grass Valley Provisions, and Peaceful Valley for supporting our programs throughout the year.
