Dance to the country and bluegrass sound of Achilles Wheel Trio
Paul Kamm, Jonny Mojo and Shelby Snow are singer/ songwriters and front men of the Northern California Roots and World music/Rock and Roll jam band, Achilles Wheel. As an acoustic trio they bring the same high energy and engaging stage presence to a quieter place, combining a bit of country and bluegrass to the band’s famously hard driving sound. But it’s the infectious quality of their songwriting that really shines in this setting, and the diverse nature of it as well. Paul and Jonny work off of each other like two sides of the same coin, actively looking for and pushing each other to find the most in whatever song they’re playing. Shelby on the bass is like a river, both calm and turbulent, that runs through it and ties it all together.
Meet your local farmers
Back to Basics Farm – Patty and Rob Bielen
Bitney Springs Farm – Christine Riccio and Mark Sheffer
Bitney Springs Farm is a place where food is grown with the utmost attention paid to providing the most flavorful, nutrient filled fruits, vegetables, and meat. How do we do this? It all starts with the soil in which our produce is grown and our animals are pastured on. We plant cover crops, continually add organic matter to our fields, and don’t use any herbicides, pesticides, or non-organic fertilizers. We grow a wide variety of annual row crops such as tomatoes, corn, beans, summer squashes, pumpkins, winter squashes, hot peppers, watermelons, cantaloupe, radishes and flowers. In addition, we have a small stone fruit orchard. We also raise animals in small numbers for meat. Our steers, pigs and lambs are pampered and petted daily. One would be hard pressed to find animals raised for meat that are more loved than the ones on our farm.
We keep our farm beautiful and use it for hosting events such as weddings and private parties. Much of the food for our events comes right off the farm. In the summer of 2018 we will also be opening our farm to overnight stays through AirBnB. We look forward to you visiting and shopping at our farm stand. (Hours to be posted on our web site in the Spring – www.bitneyspringsfarm.com)

Mountain Bounty Farm – John Tecklin
Nestled along the Yuba River near Nevada City, CA, Mountain Bounty Farm grows a great variety of exceptional organic produce for our local community. We are the oldest and largest CSA farm in the Sierras, and we put tremendous care and skill into growing superb produce for our members. Farming with love and care since 1997, we aim to provide a reliable local source of the highest quality produce for our area, and to work towards the economic sustainability of our rural community. We also want the farm to be a place of inspiration and beauty, a place to reconnect to food and the joys of food culture. Our farming style and philosophy are very simple. By being very attentive to the land, the crops, and the weather, we can succeed at the very challenging art of growing good food. Our techniques involve time-tested organic farming practices that above all prioritize care for the soil. We make heavy use of cover crops, beneficial insectary plantings, compost and organic soil amendments. We are certified organic by CCOF, however we see the organic standards as a starting point and believe that a much better job is possible. Our efforts and investments are rewarded with a bounty of exceptional produce and a farm that continues to improve year by year. Our produce can be found at Three Forks, Heartwood, Stonehouse, Briar Patch, California Organics, Mother Truckers, and New Moon Natural Foods in Truckee.
