The Wild & Scenic Film Festival comes to South Lake Tahoe, California! Join the Sierra Nevada Alliance as we host the 14th Annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival in Lake Tahoe, at Harrah’s Casino, on April 27th, from 2-9pm.
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival was started by the watershed advocacy group, the South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) in 2003. The festival’s namesake is in celebration of SYRCL’s landmark victory to receive “Wild & Scenic” status for 39 miles of the South Yuba River in 1999. The home festival is in its 17th year, and serves as a way for grassroots organizations to connect through a common goal of using film to inspire action!
With environmental and adventure films from California to Nepal, this year’s lineup will not disappoint. The festival is a natural extension of the Alliance’s work to inspire people to act on behalf of their communities and environment. The money raised from this fundraiser supports The Sierra Nevada Alliance and the AmeriCorps Program, that since 2007 has; restored more than 16,800 watershed acres, monitored over 3,750 sites, and educated more than 195,000 individuals across the Sierra Nevada.
