The Center for the Arts is proud to welcome internationally acclaimed artist Simrit back to Nevada County for a transformative evening of music on Friday, October 17, 2025. Known for her soul-stirring vocals and globally inspired soundscapes, Simrit has captivated audiences worldwide with her powerful blend of ancient chant, sacred rhythm, and modern soul.
Born in Greece and raised in South Carolina, Simrit draws on Greek, Middle Eastern, Indian, and West African musical traditions to craft music that feels both timeless and boundary-breaking. Her performances are more than concerts—they are immersive sound journeys, deeply rooted in the science of sound and energy.
While celebrated around the globe, Simrit holds a special connection to Nevada County, where her artistic journey began over 20 years ago. She has been a beloved presence on local stages such as The Center for the Arts, Miners Foundry, and St. Joseph’s, and she has been deeply involved in the community through service and benefit work. Her contributions include directing the Camp Fire Benefit at Miners Foundry, which raised $50,000 for the Paradise community, performing at Pioneer Park for Indigenous Peoples Days, and supporting Nevada County Mutual Aid community care days.
For Simrit, this October performance is more than a homecoming—it is a heartfelt reunion with the community that nurtured her.
