NEVADA CITY, Calif. August 5, 2018 – Smoke has settled back into the valley overnight as the winds decreased. However, another weak weather system will be passing over northern California today, bringing another round of breezy winds this afternoon and evening.
While the Southern Sacramento valley will clear out from the winds, the Mendocino Complex and Carr fire are expected to see more activity and smoke will once again fill the northern Sacramento valley.
The ridge will build back over the region starting Monday and once again dominate through the week. This will result in limited Delta breeze influence and more smoke filling the valley. Also temperatures will climb back near the century mark. The caveat to the temperature forecast is how thick the smoke gets. The thicker the smoke, the more limited the heating.
