Grass Valley, CA — The Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital will host its annual Cancer Center Picnic on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Whitney Pavilion at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by Zion Capital, this free community event brings together cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, families, and Cancer Center staff for a meaningful afternoon of connection, support, and celebration.

The picnic is designed to foster community and provide an opportunity for guests to relax and enjoy time together outside of the clinical setting. Attendees will enjoy complimentary food, beverages, ice cream, music, and family-friendly activities in a welcoming environment focused on encouragement and hope.

“We are honored to create a space where patients, survivors, caregivers, and staff can come together to celebrate strength, resilience, and community,” said Sandra Barrington, SNMH Foundation Executive Director. “Events like this remind our patients and families that they are not alone in their cancer journey.”

To help make the event accessible for all attendees, a courtesy shuttle service provided by Eskaton will run from the Nevada County Fairgrounds parking lot to the Whitney Pavilion venue.

The event is free to attend; however, registration is required by May 29, 2026.
