Tails with Nevada County, produced in partnership with our shelter partner Sammie’s Friends, is a monthly outreach pilot program designed to boost pet adoptions, raise awareness for our Nevada County Animal Shelter, and strengthen connections among our staff. Since February, it has led to eight successful pet adoptions!
Duke was adopted by Deputy County Counsel Sims Ely and immediately bonded with his new fur family: a cat named Opal and a Boston Terrier named Mr. Man.
He is still just a big puppy and likes to chew on things and dig holes in the garden, but he is naturally one of the sweetest and gentlest dogs. Despite some initial potty accidents and leash pulling, Duke learned quickly and has great manners now. He is a fan favorite at the dog park, and everyone’s best friend. Duke’s new family has already fallen in love with his soulful and goofy personality and looks forward to many fun years ahead.
