January 9, 2017 – The rain has changed to snow throughout the Town and is sticking on most roadways.  There are still spots with standing water, but for the most part, local roadways fared well through the storm.  Interstate 80 remains closed and could be for up to 2 days.  Cal-Trans has started the process to remove the slide debris and will provide updates through their media outlets.

Reminders going forward:

1.  Traffic will be heavy in the Donnergate area with the Interstate closure.  Try to limit travel through this area.  There is construction traffic removing slide debris in this area also.  The Cal-Trans website is a good source of information related to expected opening of the roadway.

2.  Water has gone down along Glenshire Dr near Trout Creek, however there is still standing water along Donner Pass Rd at Donner Lake.  Remember to reduce speed where there is standing water.

3.  If you are aware of Public Works issues, please call (530) 582-7707 to report the issue.  You may have to leave a message as call volumes are obviously high, but we will get back to you.

4.  911 should be reserved for life-threatening issues.  If you need to contact the Police Department, please call (530) 550-2323 for administrative issues or (530) 550-2320 for Dispatch to speak with an officer.
