April 5, 2021 – Dry weather expected this week. Temperatures will begin to warm beginning Tuesday.

Discussion

Other than some mid and high clouds across far northern California, skies are clear across the region early this morning. Current temperatures are a little milder across the northern Sacramento Valley and surrounding terrain, otherwise little change compared to 24 hours ago.

Upper trough shifts southeast from the PacNW into the Rockies over the next 24 hours. The system will drag a dry cold front south through the Great Basin today with NorCal on the western fringe.

Moisture is very limited, so only a few sprinkles are possible over the high Sierra as the front passes through.

Otherwise, ridging will result in dry weather with a little milder temperatures this week.

Extended discussion (Friday through Monday)

Models maintain enough upper ridging over NorCal to keep the weather dry through the extended forecast period.

High temperatures expected to be around 10 degrees above normal Friday through Monday with upper 70s in the Central Valley and 40s to low 70s for the mountains and foothills.
