Yuba County October 23, 2020 – After thorough investigation, CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officers determined the Willow fire cause to be arson.

On September 9, 2020, shortly before 1:00 AM, CAL FIRE responded to a vegetation fire near the community of Dobbins, in Yuba County. The fire destroyed approximately 1,311 acres of land and approximately 11 structures, including habitable and non-habitable structures.

CAL FIRE Law Enforcement continues to seek information regarding the person(s) who are responsible for starting the Willow fire. Please contact the CAL FIRE Arson Hotline at 1-800-468-4408 with any information you may have.

Residents should be vigilant in their preparedness and aware of suspicious persons when a fire does start. Suspicious activity should be reported including the time, individual’s physical description, and a vehicle description, including a license plate number. Always contact law enforcement, never approach a suspicious person. Anyone with information about arson is urged to contact the CAL FIRE Arson Hotline at 1-800-468-4408. Callers can remain anonymous.
