On Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, at approximately 3:30 p.m., deputies with the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Frenchtown Road in Dobbins regarding the report of a deceased individual located off the roadway. Deputies located the body, and the incident is being treated as a suspicious death.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026, at approximately 2:40 p.m., the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a deceased individual located on the shoulder of the roadway on Plumas Arboga Road in Plumas Lake. Deputies responded to the area and located the deceased individual.
The Yuba County Sheriff’s Investigation Unit is treating the cases as two separate suspicious death investigations at this time. Investigators are working to gather additional information and determine the circumstances surrounding each individual’s death.
Both decedents appear to be in different stages of decomposition. At this time, neither individual has been identified, and no further details are available for release. Additional information will be released as it becomes available and can be appropriately disclosed without compromising the ongoing investigations.
