NEVADA CITY, Calif. May 11, 2017 – Join us on Monday, May 15 for a town hall on citizen engagement, local government and transparency.

During the two-hour forum, we will share where to find information about your local government agencies, how to contact your elected officials, unravel the mysteries of public comment rules, talk about California’s open meeting law (Brown Act) and what to do when more information is needed.

We’ll go over the basics of public comment, share pro tips on making a point on an issue and some very practical advice on attending meeting.

Nevada County Supervisor Heidi Hall, Grass Valley City Councilmember Lisa Swarthout, Nevada City Councilmember Reinette Senum, NID Director Nancy Weber and LAFCo Attorney P. Scott Browne will answer questions from the public. The town hall will be moderated by YubaNet’s editor Pascale Fusshoeller.

Be informed, be engaged.
