According to a news release from PG&E: “A substantial wetting rainfall hit the Northern and Central Sierras Wednesday morning, providing a welcome boost to dead fuel moisture values and relative humidity in these areas. As a result of these favorable conditions, PG&E removed nine counties and more than 10,000 customers from the scope of this PSPS event. Counties removed from the scope of this event include: Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, San Luis Obispo, Sierra, and Tuolumne. Just because there is no PSPS forecast in your immediate area, the chances of power outages on Friday are pretty high. In case you’re wondering EPSS stands for Enhanced Power Safety Settings aka if a branch hits a line, the whole circuit goes down. Please, plan accordingly.

PG&E meteorologists are tracking a weather system that may bring strong winds up to 70 mph across parts of our service area. To be clear, a PSPS has not been called and customers will be notified by email, phone call or text as needed to help them plan and prepare for a potential PSPS event. We have updated our PG&E’s online 7-Day PSPS Forecast as we continue to monitor the weather system.
