October 23, 2017 – Union Hill School’s eighth-grade class will host an E-waste fundraiser in partnership with the Sacramento Regional Conservation Core and CEAR, Inc. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. Proceeds from the event will help offset the cost of their graduation trip to Washington D.C. and New York in June 2018. The trip is a tradition for those graduating from the eighth grade and moving on to high school. In order to go, students and their families must pay for the entire cost of the trip. Benefit events such as the E-waste drive make the trip fees affordable, allowing more students the opportunity to go.

All E-waste can be dropped off Saturday at Union Hill School parking lot, 10879 Bartlett Drive in Grass Valley. Volunteers will gather donated items directly from the vehicles so those donating do not need to get out of their cars. Items such as computers, monitors, old TVs, small kitchen appliances are all welcome. Cords should be intact. CEAR, Inc. will completely shred all hard drives for data security. For more information on items that will be accepted and not accepted, call 530-273-0647.
