Grass Valley, CA—July 9, 2026: The public is invited to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Grand Opening of The Rhythm Den in Grass Valley on Friday, July 10 at 5:30pm with events until 7pm. Hosted by the Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce and Kerry “Shakerman” Greene – Musician, Drumming Instructor, and owner of the newest music store in Grass Valley. Author of the book Road to Rhythm – Stepping Stones to Percussive Mastery. “Shakerman” as he’s known, brings thirty years of experience drumming with masters from around the world.
“I’ve opened up a music shop focusing on unique world percussion, much of it from my collecting and representing importers and manufacturers for the past 30+ years,” shares Shakerman. “I’m happy to continue offering classes in hand drumming and hosting drum circles, helping new and intermediate drummers discover more about how rhythm ‘works’ so they can be friends with the drum, or shakers, or handpans, etc… The space is unique and intimate.”
Located at 1744 East Main Street in Grass Valley, across the street from Humpty-Dumpty’s and behind the Lake Olympia Business Park. The Rhythm Den will host evening classes during the week, guest teachers, mini-concerts and community events and features a variety of popular and unique instruments including hand drums, shakers, gongs, hand pans, balaphones and many more. The Ribbon Cutting will include light refreshments, plant-based snacks, and an opportunity to learn about upcoming events and classes.
Saturday, July 11, the party continues at The Rhythm Den which will be open from 12-6pm with a variety of events and a raffle. Grand Opening discounts will be offered throughout the event.
