Truckee, CA / Nevada City, CA – Nevada County Arts Council with the Truckee and Grass Valley-Nevada City Cultural Districts are thrilled to announce the launch of the Homegrown for the Holidays campaign, encouraging both visitors and locals to “Keep it Local” in support of small businesses, local artisans and creatives this season. For the month of December, community members are invited to explore Nevada County’s unique shops, experience local performances, and find one-of-a-kind gifts while investing in the region’s creative economy and building a memorable holiday experience for all.
“Shopping local means more than just finding unique gifts – it’s about supporting our friends, neighbors, and local artists who contribute so much to our communities,” says Eliza Tudor, Nevada County Arts Council. “This festive season, join us to celebrate and invest in our shared creative community.”
The small businesses of Nevada County have everything you need to get your holiday shopping done right. From handmade pottery, designer jewelry and one of a kind clothing, to stocking stuffers and fine art, there’s something for everyone to be found in any of the three bustling downtown centers of the Cultural Districts. Locally owned businesses are at the heart of what makes Nevada County unique and why the Cultural Districts are a special place to live, work and play.
“When you choose to shop local, you’re not just buying a product; you’re investing in your community. Each purchase helps sustain local jobs, supports families, and keeps our hometowns vibrant and thriving. Together, we build a stronger, more connected community where small businesses can flourish and dreams take root.” says Robin Galvan-Davies, Executive Director of the Greater Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce
