Soroptimist International of Grass Valley announces grants that improve the lives of women and children in our community.  Grants will be presented at the Soroptimist Celebration of Service on May 19 at Grace Lutheran Church.

Winners include:

Breastfeeding Coalition of Nevada County to support training and the “Rock and Relax Lounge” at the 2022 Nevada County Fair.

Foothill House of Hospitality to provide heightened emergency shelter care with emphasis on helping homeless women and children.

Nevada County Association for the Developmentally Disabled to help them re-establish recreational and other support services.

One Source Empowering Caregivers to help recruit, train and provide ongoing education for volunteers.

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation to support purchase of vital pieces of equipment to support surgery for women and children including breast cancer and family birth center patients.

Women of Worth to help provide food and transportation for women and children in their care.

Soroptimists will be awarding two vocational scholarships for graduating high school students.

Annually Soroptimists continue support of the KARE Crisis Nursery, founded and established by Soroptimist International of Grass Valley.

Two young women, who are heads of households continuing their college education, will be acknowledged as winners of the Live Your Dream competition.  Applications for this program are processed every Fall.
