October 28, 2021 at 10:49 AM TNF North Yuba firefighters were able to get the remaining 8 acres in Sierra City unit C by the transfer station yesterday. Today they will be continuing on Sierra City Unit A at Wild Plum CG, looking to complete the remaining 4 or so acres. As time and conditions allow, they will be moving to Yuba Unit 14, along Hwy 49 just west of Yuba Pass. There are 20 acres remaining in Unit 14, that they will hope to have finished by this weekend. Yesterday, Yuba South went for 2 units, JJJ and LLL. The fuels were too wet to meet objectives, that said, they were able to burn 4 aces in the LLL unit and only 1 acre in the JJJ unit. Today they are going to make sure that the QQQ unit burned on the 23rd is secure before continuing to another unit.

According to a news release from the utility, “Since the storm began early Sunday, approximately 630,000 customers lost power which is about 10% of the utility’s 5.5 million electric customers. As of 5 p.m. Monday evening, power has been restored to approximately 92% or 580,000 of those customers. Approximately 50,000 customers remain impacted. “
