First.  Olivia Herr and Austin Phipps decisively won the consolation bracket.  
Second.  Ryan Potts and Ethan Hurd played 4 hard matches yesterday – they won 3rd place – and are alternates for the Section Finals next week.
Third.  Shannon Rodriguez had a tough fight in the Final Championship match and lost to the league’s MVP.  She qualified for the Section tournament on May 16th in Stockton. 
Lastly.  Sabrina Mantooth and Sofia Rodriguez made it to the Championship Match – qualifying them for the Section tournament on May 17th in Stockton.  Not only did they qualify – THEY WON THE PVL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR GIRLS DOUBLES!

May 8, 2022 at 6:59 PM Update from NCSO: We were unable to locate the suspect after an extensive area check of the Poorman’s Creek area outside of Washington. Should anyone see a suspicious subject, not known to the area, they are encouraged to call 911. The suspect is a white male adult last seen wearing camouflage pants black sweatshirt, 5 foot 10 inches tall and approximately 175 pounds. Again, the victim is safe with us.

May 8, 2022 at 5:03 PM Code Red alert for the town of Washington: Sheriff’s deputies are currently in the area of Poorman Creek and Relief Hill Road looking for an individual who is possibly armed and wanted for a recent kidnapping. The suspect is a white male adult last seen wearing camouflage pants, black sweatshirt, 5 foot 10 inches tall approximately 175 pounds. If seen do not attempt to contact and call 911 immediately.

This reporting change will align with the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) data dashboard’s  schedule, as some of NCPHD’s dashboard data comes from the state.
