The administration will be working closely with the teachers union to find a quick resolution, an email to parents states. The NUJHSD board voted 3-1 (and one abstention) on Tuesday evening to remove the mask requirements and provide education on mask wearing only, contrary to the signed MOU that requires the school to comply with state health guidelines.

Planned ignitions will begin February 23rd and will continue depending on favorable weather and fuel conditions on 16 acres. Smoke should last 1-3 days once ignitions are complete. There may be short duration, minor smoke impacts to the community located along La Porte and Oregon Hill. Smoke could have an impact on forest roads in the vicinity of the burn, but will be mitigated by posting signs and providing traffic control if necessary.

The shelter will open at 4:30 p.m. in the lower level of the Nevada City Veterans Hall and will accept guests until 8:00 p.m. The Shelter will close at 7:30 a.m. each morning. This is a community-wide collaborative effort to temporarily shelter one of our most vulnerable populations during extreme weather events and connects homeless residents to additional services.

February 8, 2022 at 11:28 AM Trailer theft impedes Senior Firewood Program. “Sadly, our trailer was stolen recently by someone who broke into the locked yard,” announced Executive Director Janeth Marroletti. “The hardened chain lock was sheared off with bolt cutters. In addition, the storage shed was burglarized and our supplies went missing. If anyone sees this trailer (license 4MC9612), please notify law enforcement immediately. The Senior Firewood Program is anxious to have it returned. Update on the trailer description thanks to one of the volunteers: The box is 4 feet wide x 10 feet long and with the wire racks is 5 feet tall. It is a dump trailer with only a single axle. Most trailers in that size class are wider and shorter with double axles. It also has a tool box welded to the front , and had Senior Firewood decals on the sides.

February 2, 2022 at 8:13 PM The SR-174 closure is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday between Race Street and Empire Mine Road. Message boards will alert motorists of the closures and to seek alternate routes. The full closure is required in order to place a crane on the highway to assist with the removals.

Can’t rule out a few periods of breezy northerly winds under such synoptic setup. Cluster analysis provides solid confidence that the ridge will maintain residence through at least days 8-10 (February 8-10). Approximately 75 percent of the individual European ensemble members are completely dry for Sacramento through February 14. Ensembles are our best tool with diagnosing the range possible outcomes in the far extended, and unfortunately they continue to largely favor little or no precip through mid-month.
