Conditions are expected to vary widely from Good to Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, reaching the Unhealthy range in some areas, depending on wind direction, fire behavior and other factors. Smoke is expected to settle in the Truckee area at night and occasionally be carried directly from the fire during the daytime if winds are from the west.

September 4, 2018 at 12:56 PM From CHP Grass Valley: 9/1/18 was our DUI checkpoint. It was located on Colfax Ave (SR-174) at Henderson St. We screened over 100 vehicles that passed through the checkpoint that night. Out of those vehicles, we arrested one person for DUI. We also cited one person for driving on a suspended license, and wrote one infraction for a fix it ticket. We would like to thank our Community for the support and encouragement they have shown over the years when we conduct the checkpoints. It truly feels like we are working together to make our world a safer place.
