If we see some clearing this morning, there is a pretty good potential for thunderstorms through the evening hours with large hail and an isolated tornado. Outside of a few lingering showers in the northern Sierra Thursday, dry weather is expected. The next storm system moves across Friday into Saturday. Per CHP: “… a very reckless driver that led CHP officers on a pursuit and foot chase earlier today. He is then believed to have stolen a vehicle and fled the area. He has not been apprehended. He seemed very distraught during the incident and may be unstable. We are requesting assistance from the public in locating him and getting him assistance as soon as possible.”

LOCATIONS: Interstate 80, Highway 50, and Highway 88.
SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 8 to 14 inches above 3000 feet, 1 to 2 feet above 4000 feet. Up to 3 feet above 6000 feet near pass levels.
Other Impacts: Strong southwest winds will make travel hazardous, especially for smaller and higher profile vehicles this afternoon through early Sunday morning.
