August 21, 2017 at 9:36 AM Nevada County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team: Sadly Sunday our team was requested to search for yet another missing male suspected of drowning in the Yuba river.
We currently have 30 team members, k9s, dive team and California Highway Patrol helicopter searching the river. The river is currently running at 60 cubic feet per second which seems like a very safe level for this time of year. Even at these flows the river can and will continue to have very dangerous sections even if it seems benign. We ask that you keep our teams in your thoughts as we continue to search for the missing subject in extremely difficult terrain. We ask you continue to exercise caution when enjoying this beautiful river and please be safe.
